• It is determined whether there is any trimming, correction, repair, or cleaning on the paper money. It is also determined whether the center of the printed image on the paper money is correct and whether there is any printing error.


    HPQ indicates that there has been no physical or chemical intervention on the money (such as correction, trimming, filling, etc.).

70 UNC No defects can be seen even with 5X magnifying glass. Corners are square, and there are no printing errors, counting machine traces or marks.
69 UNC Very small printing defects that cannot be seen when viewed closely with 5X magnifying glass.
68 UNC Very small marks that can be seen when viewed closely, and a slight shift in central printing during the production of the money.
67 UNC A small mark can be seen when viewed closely, and a slight shift in central printing during the production of the money.
66 UNC One or two hairline marks, or one distinct deep mark can be seen when viewed closely, and a slight shift in central printing during the production of the money.
65 UNC Two or three hairline marks, or one or two distinct marks may or may not be present when viewed closely, and there may or may not be a slight shift in central printing during the production of the money.
64 UNC Three or four hairline marks or two or three distinct marks may or may not be present when viewed closely, and there may or may not be a slight shift in central printing during the production of the money.
63 UNC Three or four small marks or three or four distinct marks, or a few minor defects such as pinholes may be present when viewed closely.
62 UNC Four or five small marks or four or five distinct marks, along with a slight curling in one corner and a few minor defects such as pinholes when viewed closely.
61 UNC Five or six small marks or four or five distinct marks, along with a slight curling in one or two corners and a few minor defects such as pinholes when viewed closely.

58 AU A slight bulge not deeper than the length or width of the money.
55 AU A deep bulge along the length of the money or one sharp edge on 2-3 corners.

45 XF A slightly distinct bulge along the length or three light and distinct bulges along the length of the money.
